I’m going to paraphrase Thoreau here.. Rather than Love, than Money, than Faith, than Fame, than Fairness… Give me truth
-jon krakauer.
So I saw a wonderful movie named “Into the Wild” written by Jon Krakauer who told the story of Christopher McCandless. A young 23 year old American guy who decided to live his life on his own without any luxury, he decided to escape from society. Along his journey he met unique and interesting personalitys who had an great impact on his life. Two years he walked the earth no phone, no pool, no pets ultimate Freedom, An Extremist, An Aesthetic Voyager whose home is the road, his journals in which he sees himself as a third person as a heroic loner, returning to the embrace of nature. He was not different from others he just not seem himself as homeless, but as a man freed from home.
“You’re wrong if you think that the joy of comes principally from the human relationships. God placed it all around us it’s in everything, it’s in everything we can experience. People just need to change the way they look at things. It’s okay to be lost and found yourself. After spending two adventurous year, the battle of drastic Climates. No longer to be poisoned by civilization. Walking alone upon the land to become lost in the wild.
Another best thing I’ve heard from the movie was:
• The Sea’s only gifts are harsh blows, and occasionally the chance to feel strong
“Now I don’t know much about the sea, but I do know that that’s the way it is here.
And I also know how Important it is in life not necessary to be Strong but to feel Strong. To measure yourself atleast once, to find yourself in the most ancient of human conditions, facing the blind, deaf stone with nothing to help you, but your hands and your own head.”
